    Aloha. The Hawaiian Dictionary published by University of Hawaii Press defines Aloha with 1/4 a page. A few meanings: Love,  affection,  compassion,  mercy, grace, charity; greetings, salutations,     Regards; sweetheart,  lover, loved one, beloved, etc., Hello, good bye, etc., etc..
         The State of Hawaii recognizes the   " Aloha Spirit".   The Hawaii State law says:
         "Aloha Spirit"   is the coordination of mind and heart within each person. It brings each person to the self. Each person must think and emote good feelings to others. In the contemplation and presence of the life force, "Aloha", the following "unuhi laula loa" may be used:
"Akahai",  meaning kindness to be expressed with tenderness;
"Lokahi",  meaning unity, to be expressed with harmony;
"Olu'lou", meaning agreeable, to be expressed with Pleasantness;
"Ha'aha'a",  meaning humility, to be expressed with modesty;
"Ahonui",  meaning patience, to be expressed with perseverance.

     Aloha is not taking advantage of others and justifying it because of the market. Aloha  is more than just a word  that means hello or good bye. Aloha means mutual regard and affection and extends warmth in caring with no obligation in return. The other day I was across the island on a beach painting a seascape when I lost my car keys in the sand. After about two or three hours of looking and trying to hot-wire my car I gave up and tried to hitch hike bake home to figure out what to do. Nobody would stop for two hours, and it obvious I had car problems. Finally I got a ride about half way. Without food or water all day made me very tired, it was about 6 pm.. This guy stopped so I jumped into his air-conditioned suv and he was very polite and seemed to be concerned about my predicament. Trip went out of his way to take me all the way to my door and even then hesitated to ask me if I would be all right.  Aloha is the essence of relationships in which each person is important to every other person.  Supporting others  not for selfish reasons and expecting nothing in return. Aloha is meant to be a way of life.  Aloha is, "paying it forward".
      A single most important dynamic gift you can give somebody is a positive Hawaiian aloha "unhurried way of life" experience, live aloha.
